Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known as Ashanti was born on 13 October the 13th of October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is a United States singer, songwriter, and actor. Ashanti was discovered as a teenager and eventually signing with Murder Inc. Records in 2002. In the same year, she also in Fat Joe's What's Luv? song and Ja Rule's Always On Time track both of which became massive hits. In the case of Foolish and The What's Luv being at number one and her first number one hit, she was the only woman to record two songs in the Billboard Hot 100 chart top Ten of the United States. It was the first female artist to have the Top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 in America, with Foolish at number one, and then What's Love? We can celebrate this special day by celebrating it together. Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known by the name Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York on October 13, 1980. Tina Douglas' mother was an instructor in dance and Ken-Kaide Douglas, the mother of the Ashanti Douglas, was a vocalist. Kenashia Shia is her youngest sibling. Douglas was named Ashanti Douglas from Ghana in honor of the Ashanti Empire. Women had immense power in the Ashanti Empire and Douglas wanted Ashantis emulated that. James, her grandfather, was a leader in civil rights during the 1960s, who was alongside Martin Luther King Jr. Ashanti was discovered by her mother when she saw Ashanti performing Mary J. Blige s song Reminisce. Ashanti made her screen debut when she was a kid on Spike Lee's Malcolm X, in 1992. She also played an important role on Ted Demme's Who's the Man? She also appeared in several music videos including K.R.S. Act One's MCs Don't They Know and Eight-Off Ghetto Girls. After being courted by various record labels like Bad Boy and Jive Ashanti struggled to find success as a vocalist. Despite this she continued to perform within and around New York and began hanging around at The Murder Inc. recording studio hoping to get a major break. Ashanti was first seen as the background singer for Big Pun on the song "How We Roll". Ashanti also sang on the track of Fat Joe,"What's Luv?" Ja Rule's always on time and Fat Jojo's What is Luv? also featured her. The debut single Foolish features a sample of the 1983 hit song from DeBarge, with Me. Ashanti released her first album, which was titled "Ashanti", in 2002 on Irv Getti's Murder Inc. Record Label. The Declaration was Ashanti's fourth studio release, made available on the 3rd of June in 2008. Hey Baby was released for radio and on digital platforms on the 16th of October, 2009. Also, she was in films Christmas in the City, Army Wives and Latasha Monteclair. Aitch uses the Rock wit U song for Baby, March 10, 2022.
